Unit 5 blog

I enjoyed the massage and the techniques from this exercise,  but just do not think that her voice is very soothing.    The first time that I did the exercise, I includes my family, which was a little distracting.  I see the benefits of this and the loving kindness exercise, but I think that this was more about focusing on us, not what we can do for others.  They both have their place, it just depends on where we are in our journey and also our needs at that particular time.

  1. Jackie I totally understand what you say about her voice. I have learned that when I do an exercise like this or even yoga that I have to really focus and pretend the voice is different. I know that might not make sense but I try to get to a really blank spot in my mind and then just work on staying there and relaxing. I at least feel like I practiced on the focus part.
Good luck and keep trying because when you get relaxed it feels great.

  2. I too agree that the female voice was not soothing at all, I found the male voice in the first exercise very soothing and pleasurable to listen to. I find that the only way I can truly relax is when riding in a car, something about the motion and peacefulness puts me right to sleep. I can just sit in the car as it's moving and think about absolutely nothing but enjoying the scenery. I love road trips because of this, I get good naps too! I theorize my biological mother must have driven me around as an infant to get me to go to sleep at night lol
